Don't Be a Brat

Author:

Ring!   It was a Friday and I just got dismissed from school.  I didn’t have to be home until four, so I stood around and waited for someone to walk me home.  Eventually my friends, Kacey and Shaqwana decided to walk with me.  We were planning to go to St. James Park and have a fun Friday.  Kacey, Shaqwana and I were excited to hang out at the park.   We thought we were going to have an exciting Friday.

Finally, we made it to the park after walking up Fordham Road. Kacey and Shaqwana were both able to stay at St. James.  “Call your mom and ask if you can stay,” They told me.  I didn’t really want to because I wasn’t going anywhere far away so I didn’t think it was important, but I thought about it and I called her.  I dialed her number and I said, “Hey Ma, can I go to the park?” She answered calmly, “No”. “O.K. I said in a low voice".

I explained to them that I couldn’t stay at the park with them.  I felt upset that my mom didn’t let me stay at the park with them. I felt this way because, there was no reason for her to say no.  So I went home and realized that there was no reason to be mad because that’s being a spoiled brat.
