My Hospital Day

Dominique Andrea Jackson
It was a clear day when I was in Tracey Towers watching TV. My little sister and I were on the enormous couch watching a kids TV show, when my mom told me it was almost time to leave. I know you are wondering “leaving to go where,” well so was my little sister. I was going to the hospital to get surgery on my belly, because I was tired of people joking about how big and thick my belly was, so I told my mom I wanted to get it fixed. After my mom had told me it was almost time to leave, I got my shoes on and headed out the door with my mother.        When we got to the hospital on Bainbridge I as a little freaked out because I did not know what my belly would look like after the doctors did surgery on it. After 10 minutes of waiting in the waiting room they finally called me to go in my hospital room. After a few minutes of lying in the rolling bed the doctor tells my mom it’s time for my surgery to start. As they rolled me to the emergency room, my heart was beating fast, I was freaked out. When I got into the room there were a lot of people around me and I was getting really scared. Later there was a mask over my face and I got sleepy, very sleepy. The next thing you know I am awake in the room I was I was in before the surgery. My stomach was covered in a wrapping and I was in so much pain, I could not move my body. Once the doctor told my mom it was okay to leave, he took me outside and my mom was waiting for me near a taxi cab.

When I got home it was hard for me to walk, so I just rested in my bed for the rest of the day.
