Have you ever been peer pressured into taking drugs? Don’t try it; it will mess up your life. It has been proven to do so time after time. One reason is that drugs can destroy your judgment. Another is that, it is bad for your health. If you get addicted, you can spend all of your money and eventually go broke. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT TAKE DRUGS!!!

Firstly, one reason drugs should not be taken is because it can cause you to make bad choices. The website  http://www.medicinenet.com/drug_abuse/page5.htm states, “When a person takes drugs, the inhibitory functions of the brain are particularly impaired, resulting in the person using drugs and having trouble stopping him or herself from acting on impulses that the brain would otherwise delay or prevent.” People can commit crimes under the influence of drugs, such as aggressive crimes, criminal. It can cause you to do stupid things, like nasty stunts or pranks. Sometimes, all of these actions can get you in trouble, get somebody seriously hurt..

Secondly, another reason not to take drugs is that it can destroy not only your mental health, but your physical health as well. Drugs can be very addictive. According to the website, http://www.emedicinehealth.com/drug_abuse_and_dependence-health/page4_em.htm, it states Drugs can cause you to have serious problems, such as: depression, stroke, heart disease and overdose and death. This means that drugs can have drastic effects on your body. It can make your life miserable. A person could become so addicted to drugs that they could lose their appetite, and therefore, starve their body of necessary nutrients.

On the other hand, some people in favor of drugs will claim that the happiness is worth the money they spend. But, what will happen to that happiness when all of their money is spent on drugs and there’s no money for anything else? Eventually drugs could soon control your life, causing you to act on the impulse to get more drugs. Eventually, stealing money may be necessary in order to feed the drug habit. On the website http://voices.yahoo.com/confessions-recovering-drug-addict-16117.html, a former drug addict describes his past life while on drugs. He says, “Once, his parents came home from an overnight trip to find an empty living room after Jerome "swapped" all their appliances in exchange for drugs."

In conclusion, people should not take drugs, whether due to peer pressure or curiosity. Before taking any actions, think about the reasons and the possible consequences, then decide whether there is another way to solve your problem. Drugs can destroy a person’s life and those who love you. Its estimated that in 2008, more than 36,000 people died from dug overdoses. This proves drugs can be a suiucidal wish.
